This was not be a good day to take 315bhp and no traction control gizmos to work.

So I had to take Mrs Chas's car instead.

Lots of people think the HRV is just a gimmick but some of them really are 4x4.  It's only the "Joy Machine" version that's 2wd.

Pity the two cars that followed me up the back road to Banchory-Devenick this morning.  They must have thought I was in the 2wd version and I think they're still trying to get up the hill

The top road was strictly for off-roaders.

Hairy conditions for the M5. Traction control is available you just need to change up at 1500rpm . Wait till you get it in the dry (and warm) conditions absolutely unstickable. Only time I've ever got the back end out in the dry was round a tight figure of 8 track at crail 1st gear full throttle even then it just moved a foot out and got back into line. Can't wait to get into the summer, these are increadible cars keep up with serious modern metal - enjoy.

Only seen a little flurry of the white stuff here in Dundee, nothing much to mention. Looks amazing up there, I reckon you would be fully justified in staying at home for the day! Build a snowman or something. I'd like a decent layer to fall here, I'll take my RWD collection out in the snow - it's one of the few times the Chevette gets sideways

The snow's looking pretty bad out in the sticks with you Chas.  I haven't dared take my car out over the last 2 days because of it.

Thought all HRV's were '2' wheel drive until the wheels started slipping and power it sent to the other end?

Well we have built a snowman but the snow is still falling here.  I've taken a picture of the B12...  Bear in mind those are 20" alloys and the snow is nearly up to the centre caps!

Incidentally, I'd be happy enough to take the car out in this if I could get it out of the driveway!

Only some of them are part time 4wd, the cheaper ones are 2wd only.  It's a great system and it really works well.  I don't understand why anyone would want full time 4wd unless they are doing some serious off road work (and lets face it, 95% of these type of cars are spending most time on the school run.  The hardest thing they do is mount kerbs )

We finally got a small layer of snow in the last hour - about time too! Now where is the rest of it?

This is becoming "not a BMW week"

It has been snowing continually overnight and we now have another 4" lying in the driveway where it had been cleared yesterday.  The main A93 is barely recognisable as a road once again.

Looks like I can't get to work for another day

Mango seems to be enjoying it though!

We had about 4 inches of snow here this morning, nothing amazing but still good fun with wide wheels and plenty of torque. Sideways action! Sun has got his hat on now, so most of it has thawed away sadly. I really want a good fall, but need to drive south on Monday so perhaps not too much.

it took me an hour and a half to dig the car back in to the drive yesterday there is almost 3 feet of snow in our car park.

I could see the car yesterday but all i can see now is the door handles and a couple of inches of body work and not much else.

1 good thing about this it is stopping that bloody cat next door jumping up with muddy paws i think i will have to invest in a super soaker water pistol to discourage it

Its been pretty wild out the Huntly way over the past week, My sport went for paint on Monday, the guy phoned on Thursday saying it was finished but there was no way I was getting away from his place as his "farm" road was completely level. He said he'd phone when it was passable......still waiting !

Cmon mell, take out the m3 for some sideways action, bit of slalom through wheelie bins and off you go.

You should make it for the rolling road, should have defrosted by then.
