Does anyone know of one of these for either UK or Euro cars?

There was a thread on e36coupe.com a while back but they couldn't come up with one.

I know where UK cars 28 and 35 are but where are the others...?

I have a list of GT's that are registered with the club!
I am unable to pass Vin no's, but I think I can supply edition numbers.

I went to see 28 too. The owner Tim is a top chap. He runs a Z1 too, so I've been trying to get him to join up If nothing else, I hope to see him at Gaydon.

Don't fancy that other one... bit to many changes from OEM for me.

If you've still got the Autosport could you scan the ad for me please?

the good thing is they dont stay on the market long, so people out there still appreciate what the cars are

There is a down side to this:

1. the wrong kind of people find out what they are

2. they find out it is not a bolt on fake M3

3. then they want to knick one

4. then we have even less of the finest E36 M3's ever built

5. So it would be nice to keep them all in the right hands and be well looked afteras im sure you will all agree.

Hi, I was guided here by a guy on e36coupe.com.

I believe I have no.42/50 of the Imola Individual's, she's got 54k on the clock and is totally immaculate inside and out.  So if you want you can add it to the register - its definately not dead yet

Posted By: scrob
Date Posted: 25-February-2006 at 09:19
PS I noticed on your website that you say the II has Motorsport International side mouldings.  This is incorrect, they just have the normal M3 badging all round mate

Posted By: daveM3GT#41
Date Posted: 25-February-2006 at 15:21

The Motorsport International side mouldings are only fitted to the vehicles with alluminium doors/bonet/boot, so I am told.

I know the GT has them  , but not to sure about the II,

If you have the spec sheet of your car it should tell you what was fitted as standard to your II.

If not give BMW a call and quote your chassis number and they can give you a print out of the spec sheet.

OK Cool

The car is at 54,000 miles, it's my daily driver, and hasn't missed a beat.  It's garaged in Londonderry N.Ireland under lock and chain lol but I suppose thats how it needs to be done! Added security are an alsation dog and an angry owner hehe   I'll hopefully be getting along to some of the BMW shows this year in Ireland with her.  She's totally standard at the minute, the only modifications I'm planning are a set of Eibach springs along with new standard shocks (the car sits a little bit high for my liking), a genuine Gruppe-M air intake, oh and it's now sporting my private reg.  I've spent a fortune picking up little silly things for it like new badges, new window seals, new head lights, mud flaps, first aid kit etc which have now left it minter than mint  I plan to drive the car for another year or so, then either put it into storeage for good and drive a run around, or else sell it and put the money towards a house.  Not sure which to do though, would break my heart to sell it

That's about all I can think of.  The car has had 3 previous owners, one being BMW Financial services who owned it for a month while it was sold at auction so I'm technically really only the third person to drive it.  If you want any more information just ask and I could provide the chassis number if you like?

Cheers,

Rob

To let you all know, just ordered carbon fibre consul etc in original euro spec weave for my car.(all be it an individual)

just cant believe BMW did not give the UK cars the same spec as the euro coupe.

I went to CA Automotive for it. In total the complete set cost me £550.

But with a £150 surcharge.

I now have to swallow my pride and return to BMW for 2 new front struts, so thats not going to be cheap!

Unless any one is using after market and can give some recomendations??

Hi daveM3GT#41,

Do I read you right when you say you've ordered the full carbon interior through C3?

I’ve dealt with C3 before and they certainly know their stuff, they come highly regarded and highly recommended, but a word to the wise..

...if they can get hold of the genuine carbon centre console cover, (with the red thread running through the weave), on special order through BMW (no doubt with a long wait while they make one up for you), make sure it's a right hand drive one with the correct number of window switch 'holes'.

In other words if you can get a right hand drive version, make sure you don't get one with electric opening rear windows, if your car doesn't have them etc, etc.

I've been through this before with a couple of BMW dealers, (one still sends happy new year wishes – top dealer) and it was a long and drawn out business. I eventually gave up on the centre console cover – it transpired they were not geared up for right hookers – things may have changed since.

By the way, I managed to get hold of the glove box cover, but only after proving it was a GT as it had to be made to special order at BMW GmbH.

The cost although very high, did not represent good value for money to BMW, they possibly make a loss on them but they have to do it to honour their commitment to support older cars.

Best of luck with your car………..

Now got 100 of the Euro cars on the register (largely thanks to M3GTDRIVER), 12 UK and 7 of the Imola red Evos.

Also got a mention in this month's club mag - albeit in the Scottish section rather than the news.

Anything else you guys reckon I shold be doing with the register?

Hopefully get a wee mention in Total BMW when they venture north at the end of the month

They are common as muck these days! Just had a weekend at the Ring and there were a total of 6 others including mine!!!! 2 were a motorsport garage, a lovely example owned Thorleif Neilson who also has the plate M3 GT as well as owning an exceptional CSL with the plate, M3 CSL ...

There was an English regsitered GT out there which looked like it had been left there so the owner could fly out and use it.

Saw two great examples in the Ring car park ... one with a Luxenberg reg. in amazing condition and another which had been stripped to the bone!

And mine didn't look too shabby either .....

Well, the register has now hit the halfway mark for the GT Individuals! Although I'm only claiming 24 on the site, the 25th is Evo's ring lapper project - I'm awaiting a response from them confirming the Chassis number... now to track down another 60ish GT Coupes and I'll have half of them too
