well eamo just did, and I confirm!!

Eamo, you should try Z3M coupe, should be about the same money and There is a lot of guy switching from S2k to Mcoupe joining our french club. only down side in Ireland, it's a 3.2L so tax is much more than honda 2.0L. Did you ever consider an elise?

I've had a good razz off an S2K and it was mental, partic when you get them into the 6-9,000 rev band. Dropping down to 'affordable' money @ the moment too. early ones were meant to be evil handlers on the limit, but you'd drive around that. great dash, driving position, sound, go, ride, balance.. can ye tell I'm a fan? (ditto the NSX!)

I think the Elise - although brilliant in their own right - are a bit gay but you could also argue so is the S2k.

The power band between 6 and 9k rpm is savage and the one I drove had rwd!

I have 3 other e30's at home in various guises so I wont be leaving Im afraid!

Ouch....

A chap I work with has one and I might just point him in the direction of this thread!

Seriously though, they are a bit manic and the rear end behaviour makes the e30 look positively saintly.  The torque doesn't make an appearance until 5-6k rpm so you need to make them scream all the time to get anywhere.  The novelty of that is wearing off for him a bit I think.  For this reason, it may be available in the coming months.

Not too cheap either....

They're all RWD and being Hondas they'll probably average about 40mpg!!

Check out http://www.mugen-power.com - Mugen to see some tasty bits for the S2000 (hope your Japanese is better than mine) or http://www.seriouswheels.com/top-King-Motorsports-Mugen-Honda-S2000.htm - King Motorsports which have some nice Mugen bits (in English)!

I dont really believe Eamo will sell, although i'm sure he'd get plenty of good offers. The LHD is the only thing that puts me off cos its a great investment. Saw a beautiful e36 M3 for sale in Limerick on carzone. Its a bit pricey for a '94 with 92k on clock but appears to be pristine with every receipt and very high spec. Has to be re-registered so €12k+ might be a bit steep.

Adding another one won't make much difference as presumably you will be back looking for another E30 soon!

Well in that case, time the S2k purchase for April to September, so you can drop the hairdresser hood & work on your tan!

I wont say i'm angry, just disapointed! Sounds good Eamo, I'm sure I'll soon be bored of my M3 cause I haven't seen it since the last track day ! what do you reckon your M3 is worth ? I'm hearing figures around € 14k for mine/yours type spec !

Only thing id like to add is that if your tall, the S2000 can be very claustrophobic, im fairly tall and have the seat back against the bulkhead without much room to move.

For those of you that are surprised, or in any doubt about his intentions, see my post from last June below. This was a reply to some of you wondering whether or not he had found his Nirvana...(maybe he will buy the 840 this time?)

From June 21st 2005

All,

I had this conversation with Eamo over the weekend. Those of you that think he'll keep it, stop tormenting yourselves. You have to realise that he is a buyer and seller of cars...

thats what he does...
and thats what he loves...

He'll cherish this car, love it to bits, probably love it more than any other, but he will sell it

because that's what he does...

Anyway, to hell with the psycho-analysis, I'm all for Eamo changing his car like I change jocks, cos I get to drive them all.

Almost convinced him to buy an 840 this time...maybe next time.

Also, I've seen some pics and this is a cracker.

Luckily enough its left hand drive.  Looks like the drivers side is fine!

A new wheel/tyre and 4 wheel alignment and she'll be good as new guv'nor.  Being a single seater it also has a unique selling point come resale time!
