As my normal policy doesn't cover use on a "Motor Sport Circuit", I have started exploring the cost of cover for the day.

I have had one quote for £94 per day with an £1800 excess. This is based on E34 M5 valued at £12k. Is this a good price?

Finding brokers who offer this cover isn't easy so any pointers would be welcome.

Thanks
Kevin

I'm no expert, but that sounds reasonable. Everyone seems to use Competition Car Insurance for one off track day cover. Why not call them?

Competition car insurance works slightly differently.

You decide how much you would need to rebuild your car should the worse happen.

You pay your premium based on this figure and that is what you get paid out.

Most drivers do not cover the full value of the car as they would probably do most of the mending themselves and would only need to buy the parts.

There is a firm advertising in the mag that do this sort of cover.
