Why are you surprised?

The "usual" deal with Trackdays is that you are responsible for your own car only.

You do not have to have special insurance and if someone else crashes into you, then basically tough. He/She isnt responsible for the damage to your car in the same way that if you crashed into anbody it wouldnt be up to you to pay for the others damage.

Car insurance hasnt covered special events for ages so its not like its a sudden departure is it?

I think if you read throught the post it looks like privelige have actually changed their terms and conditions. They were apparantly covering track days previously.

Given the growth in track days I am surprised they haven't seen a niche in the market and just asked for an addtional premium for any days you do, like Aon.

Yes, it was a reference to the change to previous policy. Also a reference to the "de-restricted toll road" ie traveling in Germany.

Also means you would un-insured if you go to the Nürburgring - which would be illegal in Germany.

I wasn't aware of that. So you have to have insurance if you drive the "ring".

My policy (NIG) has a restriction with "no cover for use on Motor Sport Circuit" and my broker can't offer one day cover.

Any pointers would be welcomed.

Thanks
Kevin
