I've got a 'new' rust free sun-roof coming from Fritz's bits tomorrow.

There is no info on how to fit this late roof on the BMW maint CD.

Anyone got any ideas?

It seems MUCH more complicated to fit & adjust in comparison to the earlier sunroof.

Apparently the sunroof changed in September 86, so if you've got a car produced after that, this info may prove useful to you - assuming I can get some answers, PLEASE....... Rolling Eyes Wink

I won't be fitting the roof myself, but the bodyshop guys who will have already said it looks a right pig.
They reckon they'll have to paint it off the car, fit it, possibly/likely  scratch it during fit/adjustment, then have to rub down & probably paint again on the car!

I'd like to be able to save them this hassle wherever possible, so anyone who knows how to do this, please let me know.

Cheers,

Dave

Wish I could help Dave.

Been there before with a '75 Opel Manta with Cavalier/Manta rear brakes so I can appreciate your position. Always happens when the clock's against you.

No solution I know, but you now have a good spare roof for the other 6.

What about using the other six? Can you use that?

Thanks for the thoughts Andy!

Can't use the other 635, its MOT'less & sat in my garage awaiting some TLC.
Will be going in our E34 5 series, nice n comfy but no 6!

FB didn't manage to get the roof out to me yesterday, so that will arrive whilst I'm away - at least I can come back to a nice Highline!
