Infuriating, absolutely infuriating.
Bought new telly, no problem. Tuner box has 4 scarts, great me finx, I can stop using the multi-block scart....
ha ha
Got the thing all set up nicely. Stereo system plugged into scart 4..as per destruction book.
Switched everything on and NOTHING from stereo system.
Oh sphericals...tried every single cable/scart/plug type connection available..still NOTHING.
By now getting seriously infuriated, so tried the multi-block off scart 1 (which has the NTL box plugged into it).
Voila..stereo now works with telly's own speakers.
Ended up going to shops to buy another multi-block, as original is in the back of my portable telly running the DVD player and Freeview box.
So despite buying equipment with more than enough scart sockets I have the NTL and stereo on a doubler on scart 1 and the combi DVDR/VCR on scart 2, and 2 totally empty sockets.
OK, I know I have everything up and running but its so damn infuriating when technology refuses to co-operate. The object was defeated a little but the telly is brilliant despite the minor irritations of scart sockets not playing ball.
Going to sit back and watch Live8 in full surround sound and on a 42" screen...will almost be as if I'm there, like I was in '85. Going to set the stereo and telly DSP's to live.
