I am looking to fit the "motorpsort" valve springs (the ones with the red and yellow paint on them) in an M635 M88 engine.

I need to know the installed height of the standard valve springs on an E30 M3 so as I can compare to the installed height on my M88 engine.

If they are the same then I can use them

Can anyone provide the installed height of an E30 M3 valve spring (bottom of the spring to the top of the valve cup would be fine)

Thanks

Ian

I think you need to be more specific. "Motorsport Springs" is probably not good enough to identify the springs you have.
My EVO3 springs for example are red and yellow as well.

Uwe.

Thanks for the note

They are the same springs however it doesn't really matter which springs are in there on the M3.  It's the installed height that I need which will be determined by the valve length and how far the valve head is recessed into the head itself.  Which spring is used doesn't matter as the installed height will be the same which ever spring is used.

If the installed height of the M3 spring is the same as an M88 engine then I would know that I could use them.

Ian
