Its only 350 miles to my first service, shudder, its now showing a clock above the 350. How much will the service cost?

Oil Service no more than £155.

I'm not sure about Inspection I and II on a 320Ci, but I'd have thought no more than £280, £350 respectively via a main dealer.

Presumably it's the Oil Service that's due?

Resign yourself to £200 for Oil, £300 for Inspection I and £400 for Inspection II and you won't get a shock when you come to pay.  Dependant on if it doesn't need any work doing then I'd advise getting the BMW specialist to tell you what's wrong then getting it done cheaper elsewhere, that is if it's not covered under warranty!

And remember BMW dealers want everything to be perfect, I was told that all my pads needed changing and the front disks also needed doing when my motor was last in for service, decided on getting the parts myself from eurocarparts (£80) and then getting someone to fit them (£40), when i went back to the garage to pick the car up I was told thet the ones currently on the car would have been perfectly fine for a good few thousand miles!!!

Just booked my car in at a small tuning specialist for an oil service + anything else that needs doing (tracking/balancing). Cost for oil service = £36, wheel balancing £9 and full 4 wheel tracking £25. Full service depends on what plugs are being used, cost of air filter etc.
The bloke I now use is a one man band, has a lot of equipment and enjoys his work (did a thorough job of my old e30, pointed out other bits and peices to keep an eye on, not just the bits that needed doing at the time).
The last garage I used emplyed jobsworths who didnt even do some of the jobs I asked them to do (but still charged for 'em).
Will let you know how I get on (is getting done tommorrow)
