Hi, I'm posting this in the 5 series forum as I'm trying to find out if anyone can tell me if their air con compressor is mounted at a 45 deg angle or not on the side of their M60/62 block. Any pics would be great.

I am looking at installing a replacement OEM compressor/clutch unit from http://www.sca-australia.com.au/unicla/products/BMW.html - http://www.sca-australia.com.au/unicla/products/BMW.html

The original BMW DENSO units just don't seem to cut the mustard in hot weather and wear out too fast, especially the magnetic clutches.

I first have to determine if the mounting angle is the same on the 5 as the 8. I am trying to get a photo of my current one's mounting angle but I need to put it up on the hoist as there is no room to fit the camera in from the top of the engine bay!

This is what the Unicla ones look like

BMW want $700 just for the mag. clutch, these are $600 for the mag. clutch and compressor and are better performance!

Ian
