On returning to Dublin from the UK recently I thought nothing of bringing my '88 BMW 635csi Highline until I investigated the cost of insurance and road tax. I would probably only put about 2,000 miles a year on the car but still would have to shell out two and a half thousand euros on insurance and over a thousand on tax. This is ridiculous. The car is currently off the road until I decide what to do.

If anyone know of any reasonable, understanding insurance schemes I would be very grateful to hear about them.

I've heard it's extortionate but that's a serious amount of money. Are you working over there or have you moved from the UK?

You need to ring all companies in the golden pages.

I renewed the insurance on my 320i recently and came out smiling... see http://forums.eforecourt.com/showthread.php?s=1b68f7d85963c826875dc5feafafbf7e&threadid=1148">here
