Can you help. I am looking to purchase another M635 for daily use, prefer a highline but will consider a non highline. Must be in good condition and low mileage.

Hi Ross

Don't know your budget but is this one still for sale on this site?

It's very low mileage and £11k - might have been sold though.

Good luck with the search - keep us posted on your progress!

See you at Hestercombe?

Never seen an M6 with full cloth seats before - seen one with beige half
cloth/half suede at ML. If it's had new sills, it means that the dreaded
tinworm has already had a go so I would check the front wings, inner
wings and floorpans very carefully - is it a big (i.e. expensive) job to
replace the sills? Silly question I guess! At 76K it might still be on the
original tiiming chains and in my experience a lot of the seals and gaskets
start to fail on these engines after 20 years, even if the mileage is low so I
would expect that most of them have been replaced by the current owner.
It's not too far from ML so I wonder if they have looked after it?

It will be interesting to see if it reaches its reserve. A similar car sold
recently for around £6K with only slightly higher miles.

Looks like a lovely car to me, I wouldn't orry about the sills being replaced, the way I see it, if your doing such a thing which is fairly involved you are going to replace anything else which is on the way out. Looks like a genuine mileage car, i would be shocked if the timing chain has been replaced.

From what we see it looks like an £8k car to me.

Hmmm, four people have had a go at it already, and at £4k it's nowhere near the reserve either....

Noticed yesterday that the red one with low mileage
that was for sale on this site for £11K is now being
advertised by a dealer in Classic Cars magazine for
a cool £13K.

Ross has now found one.

F registered Motorsport M635csi in Red with Black leather.

He picks it up on Tuesday. Looks like another imaculate car.

Hopefully Ross will bring it down to the next coupe meeting.

This will be Ross's every day machine replacing his Mercedez E320 Diesel.

It's as i mentioned earlier a short term solution untill his new M6 arives with something over 500BHP and 10 cylinders.....

Thanks all for your comments .

But I have now found a M635 , as james states earlier, this is for every day use , so dont worry Ivan , it may not be another show stopper.

Regards

Ross

Hi Nick,

Until Saturday munich legends were rebuilding a C Reg for me, It has done 100K+ miles.

They started 3 months ago and today I'm going to collect an 8 series, R reg 23,500 miles, from a dealer in Birmingham. I got tired of waiting for news and the feeling that I was pestering them for info every two weeks. However there is one there, I gave back word on it yesterday.

Good luck

Thanks Henners, but I doubt I could afford ML's asking price for a
restored M6.

I have decided to wait until an M6 Highline comes up, preferably one with
black leather. I like the 'Shadowline' dechromed look and it's quite rare on
the early cars. I would consider a manual 635 Highline but I've never seen
a dechromed one for sale.

Good luck with the 8 - I've always admired them and still do a double
take when I see one on the road. Stunning value aren't they!

I see that you're in my neck of the woods as I am moving to Sheffield in
July - might see you at a Yorkshire meet if there are any.

Hi Nick,

I have had the car for a day now, its going to be serviced for the first time since 8/2001. Can't wait for the bill.

Will also be cleaning it today so hopefully will post a pic later, but we are off to Woking on saturday to see some friends.

As I have only just joined although my father had several BM's when I was a spotty youth (2600, 2800, 728, 732 then the 635Csi), I do not know what the status is about meets in Yorkshire, I shall investigate.

Good luck with the move. where in sheffield?
