Got an E39 with TV/SAT NAV option fitted, with all thats on the news at the mo regarding the move to an all digital terrestrial broadcast system, I assume my on-board TV won't accept the signal.  As BMW are still selling cars with TVs are the new ones digital?  I would imagine any upgrade, if possible, would be expensive.  Any thoughts???

Nope - all analogue.  But....there are plans afoot I am told.

God knows when mind you!

I believe the plan is for all areas to be digital by 2012, but some have already started.  The first area in Wales changed last week and you can't get analogue there anymore.  It depends on the region as to when the switch happens.

Thought the area in Wales was just a trial?

The area in Wales was a trial run but the analogue signal is now off there for good. (I Think)
