Hi guys :)

Bought an M3 about a month ago, and been hanging around on an american site until I found this a couple of weeks back.

Been searching and reading up on this site and seen loads of you, but had loads of problems registering :( so you havnt seen me~!

But finally sorted and I got here

Brief history, I wont bore you with it all. Sold my nissan 300zx, I bought an E36 3.0 M3 (1993). Its done 125k but FBMWSH and is mint asthetic wise! had a full inspection and threw up coroded flexi joint on the manifold and cats on their way out, also couple of bushes need doing and tie rods, but otherwise rest was mint. Oh had a lambda error 1? knocked the guy down 1k on price.

I've drove it about 600 miles, and it's been fun, but developed a flat spot around 2-2.5k revs on part throttle then smooths out, so I suspect coilpacks? The cars going into Munich Legends next week for new flexi joint to be welded on to the manifold and the flat spot to be diagnosed.

Looking for a Decat atm as dont want to pay 1200.00 for a cat I dont even want!!! so going for a decat but hope that my cats will get through the next mot, although they have seen much better days :(, seen the supersprint one you guys go for on a few posts and so im going to order one :)

Thats it for now! just like to say hi all :)

Cheers

Steve

Bit of a gamble as to the condition, but used cats tend to go quite cheap on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4533748921 - CLICKY .

Decat is a must. Flat spot is inherent on ECU coding and is there for emmissions. Superchip apparently drops it.

Thanks for the welcome guys,

Ordered a decat from that site tonight :)

Interesting about the flat spot, like I said its not a major issue as if I go full throttle it goes away, but only on part throttle through traffic and town etc, or @ cruise around 2k it sounds anoying, very slight but I can here it, probably because of the aftermarket stainless I have from cat back makes it louder and more noticeable. It's a bit odd that Munich L didnt mention anything about flat spots on the M3 E36 and said it would cost over 100 to diagnose! Fuel consumption wise etc, I'm getting on the computer 30-35 @ cruise and around 22 round town. ATM I tend to be getting around 150+ miles to 25 squid, so about 24+ combined, not bad at all and thats with a bit of right foot action a few times a journey!

I'll have to keep my eye open on ebay, my cats are a bit rattly on are looking pretty nasty underneath. It's a gamble seeing if they will get through the MOT for sure, but its not due for another six months, so I guess I will worry about it then!!

Heres to M Power

:D

Just checked my mails from him and yes its william scott, he had it up for 6600.00 to start, fell a bit, then I got it for 5870.00 in the end as it needed some work, but, the interior and exterior was mint, as well as it having all history etc.

You did well then because the car lokked superb from the pictures, he said he wouldn't take less than 6K off anyone. Have you got a trilby and a sheepskin coat.

Hehe, not quite, but was aiming for 5800! Got a full inspection check done and valve clearences checked recently, its not too bad. Just fitted a new Rad, as the old one had a slight leak on the end tank, not hardly noticeable but I wasn't happy with it obviously!! Took the car to Munich legends too, thumbs up for them, I was hours late and they still got the car on the ramps and did the work I wanted in three hours, including cleaning her! Going back there for a few more bits in a few weeks :)

Also ordered the Supersprint decat pipes a few days back and had confirmation they are on their way

Hope they arnt too bad to fit.....
