I'm having my race engine rebuilt by Moseley Motorsports and the engine builder is Lester Owen. Does this name sound familiar to you? I don't know his reputation, anyone knows?

Lester Owen is legendary. He really knows his S14 engines. I'd be very happy for lester to buld mine. Has previously built M3 touring car engines.

I'd describe him as 'old school'. A real pro.

Incidentally, he once rolling-road tuned my E30 M3 and cured a whole load of poor running; the PO had got it set up terribly.

Lester Owen is legendary.

Couldn't agree more. Lester used to set up my dads 3.0 CSL and he has done work on my E30 M3. Excellent knowledge of BMW engines.

Totally agree with the above posts.

Doubt there is any better in the UK.

Sorry for the huge pic! Fixed it!

I'm happy to see that he is the man, I was tired of blowing heads. 3 blown heads last summer(Dropped valve seat, seized valve guide, broken piston)

Uwe, I don't know what is gonna be the final price for all he does, this time I'm not the one thats gonna pay, it's the co-owner of the car, my good friend Craig Albon who lives near London.

Lester will build the engine with the pistons and cams I've sent him.

The pistons are 12.5 to 1 CP Pistons(forged) and the cams are custom made by Cat cams for VAC motorsports in the US, they are; intake 302 deg with 13.5 mm lift and exhaust 298 deg with 12mm lift.

I also sent him my SDS fuel injection, so he will tune it on the dyno.

He's gonna put a CF airbox, but I don't know what else he's gonna use(rods, valves,)

Her usually goes for a good, reliable 275 crank hp, but with milder cams and pistons. Will probably be around 300 crank HP, I hope.

You cannot get better than Lester - he built my M10 race engine for my race 2002 and he also rebuilt my Group A 8 injector Bigazzi S14

A true professional

I'm sure Nigel Moseley does - he also uses another builder - give him a call on 01952-503992. He's fixing up my Cadwell crump at the moment.
