Has anyone ever actually tried using a cam chain tensioner from an E46 ME on an E30 M3? It seems to be a hot topic in all the magazines at the moment. Did it fit OK and did it make the chain quieter?

i think i had the e36 one fitted to mine which has done the job fine, if they still rattle after fitting these then your chain will have stretched too much and will need replacing. I have heard that the e36 and the e46 maybe very similar if not he same, you can also apparently use the 750 tensioner as well, although i see no benefit from these.

I spoke to a guy who had recently fitted the E46 item, said it's fine
