Thinking of treating my recently purchased 330 coupe to a Scorpion Sports Exhaust and K&N Induction Kit.  Is this a good idea?  Has anyone done similar thing.  Any comments anyone.

Hi

As far as the exhaust goes

If you like loads of noise go for it.

If you want a nice sound which makes it sound what it is ,a powerful motor and not boy racer and has no booming inside the car go for a Sebring.

Thats my opinion anyway!

Paglads dead right...scorpions make a big noise.......might be worth looking at super sprint exhausts as they have come highly recommended by several M3 owners.

As for induction kits, I fitted a piper-X kit to my 318iS and it made a noticeable difference even without the heat shield shrouding but again it does give a throatier noise becoming a louder roar at higher revs.

Could try exhaust and k&n panel filter. Beauty with the panel filter is that it isnt necessarily an insurance declaration unlike the induction kit (which did push my insurance up).

Gentlemen I may not have a brain but I do have an idea

The original back box on the 330 has an actuator controlled flap in the inboard tail pipe.  As this is part of the back box, on fitting  the recently aquired Sebring back box, it would be removed leaving a redundant feed tube.  Does anyone know what effect the removal of this will have on the car's performance & would the feed tube need to be left as an open end or be plugged off.
