Hi guys,

This is my VERY first port to the forum and I'm sure I will find this very educational.

I currently own a '95 E36 M3 cabriolet.  It has 225/45x17 tyres at the front and 235/45x17 at the rear.  However, I owned a very similar one a few years ago which had 235's all round.  Does it make a great deal of difference if the tyre sizes are the same all round.  I understand that the rears are usually wider as that's where the drive is.

I'm also looking at having possibly 245's on the rear and 235's on the front.  Is there any drawback on doing this ?

Thanks for your help in advance guys.

VJ

I run 235/40 all round with no probs. I thought the M3s got slightly 'smaller' tyres at the front which along with other wee tweaks gave a wee bit of 'Joe Public' friendly understeer...

Factory Fit sizes not 225/45 Front and 245/40 rear?
