 Topic: Murray to Return ?

In METRO news today article about which programmes ITV has taken from BBC over the last few years, the part regarding the F1 coverage said they had just signed a new deal (we all new that) till 2010 & Murray was part of new format, hopefully then james allen will be going !

I can't say that I'm a fan of Murray Walker, and although I don't think much of James Allen, he is nowhere near as anoying.
Also anyone who names his son after a car or a car maker has to have a screw loose and needs to be taken into care!

haha never knew he named his son after good old Mr Ferrari. Bet he has another called Dino!
I cant see Murray comming back. Much as i thought he was great entertainment (even if he mostly spouted rubbish due to excitement!) he should enjoy his retirement. Murray was also quite biased towards Ferrari winning. Dont know why though. Apprently he is a very big BMW fan too!

I kind of miss Murray, myself, I loved hearing him talk himself into, over and through a corner (via a hyperspatial dimensional warp!)  However, I do agree that he should enjoy his time off and leave well enough alone.
Do I detect a certain anti-Ferrari bias in some of these posts? 
Certainly, I don't think anyone can doubt my "enthusiasm" for BMW, but I have to take my hat off (or would if I wore one!) to a slick, well-run and professional team who are just miles ahead of everyone else at the moment.
Those who grumble about the continuing dominance of the Scuderia should rather be asking hard questions of the other teams. I mean, we are looking at BAR to give Ferrari a challenge this year, for heaven's sake! What's that all about?
You can't be cross at Ferrari for getting their act together while everyone else seems to be heading in reverse.
While I'm digging my own grave, I also think JPM was well out of order having a pop at Michael for holding his line and then trying 4 seconds later to drive his own team mate off the track.
Having said all that, I hope this year doesn't turn into another all-red procession. As much as I admire Ferrari's and Michael Schumacher's skill, competence and professionalism, it doesn't make for very exciting racing if no-one else is in the same league.

I agree entirely. You can't blame Ferrari just because Williams and Mclaren have failed to produce the goods so far this season. Montoya just made himself look bad for having a pop at Micheal, who had after all, done nothing wrong. What was he expecting! Micheal just to move over and wave him past.
I am just happy for Jensen. Finally we have a decent British Driver to root for. He centainly makes DC look a bit average. An go BAR! it's nice to see one of last years middle order teams make some real progress. At least one team is taking the fight to Ferrari.

On the topic of both BMW & BAR, the current rumour is that Jacques Vlleneuve is heading back to Williams next year.
Ferrari are spending shedloads of money on their team which many of the others are not financially able to do. This is even more so with the private teams.
Still, it is not Ferrari that are making F1 boring - it is (as mentioned) the other teams who can't keep up.

I don't think the money hurts, but I don't think that's all there is to it. I also remain sceptical that Ferrari have materially more money than McLaren or Williams, to be honest, but am happy to be proven wrong.

Oh, please, PLEASE say it's true!
James Allen really is the worst motor-racing commentator I've ever, ever heard - and I've heard a few of them - and some of the best (dear 'old' Brian Jones @ Brands for instance!!)
The problam was that James Hunt died - sadly missed - and Mudley Talker isn't exactly in the first flush of youth, so whats the choice?
I know! if MW won't come back, lets have Ben Edwards paired up with MB!!
