BMW dealers will provide a new one free of charge if you provide a chassis number.

Or at least they have done so for my M6 - they said it applies to all M cars.

Why pay e-bay for a potential copy when u can get it from a stealer FOC?
The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think.

I bought one too last year from a stealer. If I'd known they were supposed to be free I would have made sure I got it for nothing.

Find out which dealers gave it free and tell your local dealer. While you're at it ask him what other bits he can get you free, a spare engine maybe!

We don't get much for nothing!

Anyone know when they stopped being free?

We got ours from Dick Lovett in Bristol not that long ago...

Well high speed badge failure can be expensive to fix..

Wonder if there is a wear and tear clause in the warranty for the badge?
