Hi guys, im needing a bit of friendly advice. I have recently cleaned my engine bay and thus removed the metering unit which now has a nice and shiney Pipercross cone filter on it. Only to discover that oil has gone and passed through the metering unit out into the cone and dripping onto the under tray.

Can anyone tell me what may have caused this?

Thanks.

Would have come out of one of the breather pipes that go onto the inlet hose i would have thought, clean out the breather hoses and re attach them all firmly don't think its a major problem, unless somebody says otherwise??

This problem can also be caused by overfilling the engine oil. If it still happens after the hose clean out, that might indicate that the bores are a bit worn, allowing combustion gases to blow past. I'd certainly recommend cleaning the hoses out before worrying about that though!
