Just failed MOT due to no side indictators.

Where do they splice into the loom?
I presume fittings are the same as normal E30?
Measuments for drilling?

My car has always passed its MOT with no side indicators for last 6 years, in fact with European head lights as well come to mention it.

Try somewhere else may be less hassel then cutting your fenders.

MOT inspectors are getting much strictor now, not down to them but so many are being caught out for not being "to the letter" and losing their certificate.

I had same prob in 1996, take it to another garage and ask them about the indicators before you book it in.

Then go back there next year!

I think the MOT stations are starting to all become computerised to stop people giving out MOTs over the phone etc...

In 2004 they are generally becoming a lot stricter....

I'd like to get a smaller version of the US running lights that they have in the front bumpers and hook them up as side repeaters, I'd rather cut a hole in the bumper than go chopping up the wings. I just haven't found anything suitable yet.

On new cars the indicators have to be visible when flashing from any angle the car is viewed from ( when on road ) as to retrofitting, not seen legislation stating this has to be done, ie: if you dont have a cat as new then retro not needed
