Nice car. Best way to make it faster is not to buy it and save your pennies for one of the 6 cylinder jobs :-) Failing that, stick with a panel filter for around £50 or less. K&N is the old favourite... then on with a quality stainless steel zorst (Magnex or Milltek maybe) ~£300 (not one of the noisy fart pipe jobs!) finally sort out the chip with a nice Dastek UNICHIP ~£400. Should see you up to a max of 160bhp if you're lucky. HTH Duncan

Try http://www.tesco.com/finance not sure how they'll react to your 3 years claim free in DK... do you operate a no claims bonus scheme there? If you do, just bring proof of your NCB in writing (and maybe a translation!). (I've also got a list of insurers at http://www.newtongrove.demon.co.uk/cars.html) As a guide, I'm paying about £540 for a 1996 328i coupe, aged 27 with 8 years NCB. You'll need to come to the Scottish regional meetings at Queensferry once you move to Edinburgh :-) |

Yes, £540 is for 1 year. Check out the region's website @ http://www.newtongrove.demon.co.uk/bmwcc you'll see pictures of some of the members. Just come up and say hi to anyone loitering beside a BMW on the day of a meet - pretty much no-one knew anyone when we started the meets - I certainly hadn't met any of the members before. |

There's Superspeed out by Edinburgh Zoo and Ripspeed out at Straiton. Stirling (about 45 minutes away) has Pentagon window tints (http://www.pentagonglasstech.com), MMV (http://www.mmvperformance.co.uk), DVD, RATS (http://www.ratscaraudio.co.uk) and MOTAC. Peugeot Ecosse are also pretty nearby http://www.ecoss-peugeot.co.uk and they sell tasty Esquiss kit for BMWs.

Peugeot Ecosse are the UK importers for Esquiss - http://www.esquiss.fr. Look in their catalogue under BMW. Chip will cost from £200 -£400. Exhaust will cost from about £300-£1000 depending what you buy... |
