Odd annoying fault alert!

1983 635 Auto.

When the engine is hot and youve been running it for a while and you turn it off it sometimes (arent these the worst type of faults!) quite simply wont turn over at all, nothing infact not even a murmur from the starter motor. Only does it when hot.

Leave it for a bit and it starts fine.

Obvious suspect must be the starter I guess?

But why???

Interesting. Our old 1981 VW Jetta used to do that.

Is there something in the primitive electronic brain that our Sixes have which acts as a limit, i.e. over a certain temperature, the system shuts down?
