Seen all the 5 series 530d's about London? Why does a policeman need to drive about in that when a mondeo would do the same job???? |

I would have thought that as persuit cars go a 530d BMW would be pretty good. Loads of mid range grunt for quick overtaking. I would bet that in real world driving conditions they would be faster than even an ST220. Also as Kbannon says, good taste

Hummn i was thinking more along the lines of waste of taxpayers money! But if it wasn't spent on the cars where else would it go? Back pocket of the nearest assylum seeker no doubt. |

Boys In Blue, know it takes one, to catch one!!.Many force,s used to run fleets of them, very good value for the taxpayer, never went wrong.Could catch anything, and if in a crash knew it was not a prob. With referance to the unmarked cars on M40, pay MORE attention, cos the Mets have some New Vauxhall Omega,s some red, some ---.all with latest film equipment. So, you could be reading about yourself in a few weeks. in norfolk they have mitsubisi evo. the rear half looks like boy racer motor, all spoilers and proper colours , the front end is police colours and police written all over it. must be looking out trying to tempt you into a 'race' and losing your licence.

Not really. If one looks in your mirror you see ECILOP POLICE and dayglow yellow, if your zooming down the road and go past the Rear RED of the car , you didnt pay attention to what was on the roof, so will get nicked. But then perhaps you wouldnt see a car coming out of a side turning anyway. The Met now use Silver cars, this is to give them a greater resale value...

No matter how devious they get with the unmarked cars, they are far more prefferable to the masses of stupid speed cameras we have. Blow the cameras up and bring back plod I say !!!!! They look for far more useful stuff tham 10% + 2 mph. |

Best Wishes
