I have recently bought a BMW 323i Coupe. I was wondering if the existing Cat 1 alarm system (which is a System 3G EWS Alarm) can be upgraded to include features such as a tracker, extra sensitive shock sensors and proximity sensors.

The reason for this is because I have had my lights smashed and have only had the car for less than 2 weeks.

Check with your local dealer, they will be able to let you know what additional features can be programmed into the system.

The Tracker units are a seperate unit, installed elsewhere in the car, and is independent to the alarm fitted.

Hi,

I checked with the dealer. Unfortunately they dont fit after market alarm systems and apparantly there isnt any official BMW upgrade for the existing alarm system.

I have spoken to an independant alarm specialist who says they can hook up 2 Clifford shock sensors to the existing system for £150. Has anyone done this or similar?

Thanks guys.
