I've just ordered a Nokia 6600 but if it’s not going to work with the built in Bluetooth kit in my new BMW M3 I must cancel it immediately!

Can somebody please help and advise me if this is a problem?

I've heard mentioned that the operating system of Nokia 6600 is not compatible with BMW Bluetooth car kits.

Thanks very much.

Why would one buy an M3 if a Nokia 6600 Bluetooth phone won't work?

Just for your info gents -

http://www.bmw.co.uk/apm/corporate/news_index/0,3312,,00.html

Found on the BMW Corporate site. Look under the topics on the right of the page marked 4 November 2003 - 08/11/03 Mobile phone legislation.

Details what phones they say are compatible with the BMW Bluetooth system.

Can anybody suggest how I find out who is the manufacturer of the BMW bluetooth?

Parrot who make a similar car kit for other manufactures and also for aftermarket but not for BMW have just released a software upgrade which allows many phones including the Nokia 6600 to be used with their car kit. See below:

Grrr - wish I'd read this thread before the weekend! bought a 6600 and battled with settings yesterday to try and get it to work with the bluetooth kit in the M3 - I can get it to pair, can make it dial, but the phonebook does not transfer over and the audio does not route through the car - if anyone does now how to get the bluetooth software in the car upgraded would love to get it sorted!

There are various problems getting the 6600 to work with anything even the official Nokia CK-1W BT car kit, they seem to be getting there and are working on software updates to make this problematic phone more compatible.

Did an Ericsson HCB-30 install today and it worked fine with a 6600  with the latest software installed

regards

Terry

Hi there,

Fallen into the same trap! Has a solution been found to the Nokia 6600 and BMW bluetooth car kit issue?
