My problem is that living in Lincolnshire I'm miles away from the majority of events. I suspect is a function of the NE region being a large one.

Are any events planned for this area, or is it a case of "Physician heal thy self" and arrange one, via Howard, myself?

Tris

If you've checked out the events calender and there's nothing on near you then you're prolly right - the next step would be to look into sorting a meet yourself. Make sure you keep in touch with your region's committee tho to ensure everyone ends up benefitting from your hard work

Hello Steve

I'm even closer than you think, I'm in Gainsborough!

May be I'll try and sort out a navigation rally or something

Why not sort out a dealer visit.. but have a word with Howard first.. they are always a good day out.

You could try Astle in sunny Scunny.. they have become active with the club recently so should be ripe for it..

..and then there is Soper in Linclon.. we used to go there quite regularly, some years ago mind, and they were always very welcoming.

FYI.. a 'visit' usually involves a guided tour of the premises.. light refreshments.. and a fleet of demonstrator vehicles to try.. quite often a raffle as well, or a quiz based on what has been seen at the visit.

..it would be nice to get out into Lincs again.. it's been a few years now since Mike from Grimsby left the committee.

Don't forget though that there is always a club driving day at Cadwell Park every May.. which is a spectacle worth a visit even if it just to watch.

Nick

Problem with the North East Region,is that a lot of it is in the South. What is really needed for areas that are at the extremes of the region are meets like the Mallory Park one (first wednesday of the month in the Mallory Park Hotel at the Circuit). If there are at least six people who will come to a meeting in Lincolnshire please email me and I will be pleased to organise one there.
In your emails, suggest a suitable location. Currently we have a gap in the program for the 16th May.

Howard you are so right, the North East Region is too big to expect people to travel such distances to frequent club meets (ie. to Mallory) especially mid week.  This is excellent for those within close proximety, but we do need to cater for the extremities of the region and to this end as you already know I am happy to take care of the Tyne / Tees Northern extremity.  I have had some small interest in response to my posting in December Last.  Very soon I shall be coming up with a suggested venue and we'll be ready to give it a go.  So come on all you true North Easteners email me if you are interested richardbetts@tradcraft.com

Regards

Richard

Right Chaps, I'm back in the country now.

I'll have a think and send my thoughts to Howard
