Hi Guys

Hope you can help with some good advice.........

My sons having real problems with his E92 320d since his turbo blew. It's been in a workshop ( general mechanic ) for 3 weeks now, and still no nearer getting it back on the road. So far it's had 2 turbo's ( due to oil seals failing  ! ), and had the injectors out, tested, and refitted......and it's still not right.

I need some help as to a really good BM indie with proper BM diagnostics that you can recommend in the Lanarkshire / Cambuslang area, who won't take my pants down on costs ( already into the car repair for £££££££ ), and really need an expert to pin point the issue without throwing random parts at it & further racking up the bill...................HELP PLEASE   CryCry

Strange that the oil seals are failing on the turbo's. Is the turbo ok now? What's the issue with the car now? Why were the injectors removed? Maybe a bit more info on here and someone may be able to help out a bit

Hi Gary

Update is that we got the car back late last night......still waiting on the bill to land on the doorstep tho !!!

So far it's had 2 replacement turbo's fitted ( 1st replacement blew it's top after only 20 mins at idle speed due to faulty oil seal ). This caused an oil spill that the Exxon Valdiz would have been proud of !!
Ended up that the intercooler was nicely topped up with about 3 pints of oil, that of course ended up spewing down the exhaust, filling the silencer box, and eventually spraying out the pipe before the mechanic luckily managed to shut the engine off, before it hit the rev limiter and blew itself apart !
As a result of running rougher than a badgers arse, the injectors were also removed and bench tested - result was that 2 of them were duff ( no idea how this happened, as it was running sweet before the initial problem ), so they were reconditioned and refitted. We also had the breather and vortex changed ( we think the previous breather pipe was blocked and this contributed to the initial turbo problem ).

The car was road tested and felt ok, but of course it's smoking out the pipes like a jakey on 60 a day, as although the full exhaust system from the manifold back has been removed and stood on it's end for an entire day to allow the trapped oil to drain out, the silencer box and contents must be totally caked in oil ! Just hope that with a few good runs down the M74 and some miles under it's belt, it'll eventually burn off and get back to normal.
At least it's back on the road after exactly 1 month up on a ramp, so touch wood it'll be ok ...............it had better be, with almost an entire engine replaced.
