    Posted: 13-February-2014 at 13:42
Recent MOT picked up that there is a bit of play in the inner track rod joint.  Not the track rod ends they are new but the inner joint to the steering rack.  MOT 2 years ago picked up something similar but not last year.  Interesting that.

Looked on Eurocar Parts for new bit last weekend £27 each for a Lemforder OEM bit.  O.k. not too bad.

Driving it ahem cough enthusiastically I can feel a bit of play right enough from the right hand side.  Everything else is new in the suspension system except the offside front bearing.

Looked again today, same bit is now £18.60.

According to ECP the list price for the track rod is £139.60.  £18.60 v £139.60.....

Go figure that one!
2 parts ordered from the Paisley Branch of ECP for £37.20, before they put the price up!

Looking again it is becasue they are having a Valentines special up to 50% off.  So seeing as how it is Valentines day coming up you should splash out on your loved one and buy your BMW some new bits.

Also noticed that if you put something in your basket and then don't check out, they will e-mail you a discount code to entice you back!

if you google " eurocar parts discount codes " you will always find an online code...sometimes takes 2 or 3 goes, but they are always there...I have never paid full price for anything at ECP.

I did wonder that Jim.  I've noticed that when you google a shop name one of the google searches is always for discount codes...

Last two purchses from ECP have been with big discounts.  The track rods I bought yesterday were £18 which is great value, when you look at the amount of Engineering that has gone into making it.  BMW will want well into 3 figures.....

For anybody who is still interested GET25 gets you 25% off. It's on every ad banner of every internet page i use. Google chrome seems to note what i search for and hits me with relevant ads.

My car also needs a service soon, so was having a look at oil, air and cabin pollen filters.  Eurocar parts want £13.14 for a Guttmann air filter.  With a Service25 discount code that drops it to £9.86 but if you have a look on flebay at their own ebay site the same filter is £8.64!

So try Eurocar Parts flebay store too!

Also check out carparts4less.

Same mob as ECP but cheaper. I am still looking at brakes and they are 30% cheaper for same kit.

I've just bought some Bosch Bulb orange side indicator bulbs from carparts4less ebay store, buy one get one free so for £4 I get four bulbs.  It comes up on my paypal as Eurocar parts right enough!

Had to resort to t'interweb for decent Bosch Bulbs as the Halfrauds own brand stuff is crap and blows after very little use and are more expensive than OEM stuff.

Only bummer with that order is that they have sent the bulbs to me via a courier.  I won't be in for a courier.  Bulbs are tiny and could have gone in an envelope via Royal Mail but hey ho.

Aye well the bulbs arrived yesterday.  Box 250mm x 100mm x 100mm, huge given the size of the packet of the bulbs.  After opening the box and removing the air packets the bulbs were at the bottom of the box.  So they were only protected on one side.  Some gormless eejit thru the bulbs in the bottom of the box then thru the air packet packaging on top so offering very little protection to the bulbs.  Checked with a multimeter and the bulbs are o.k.

I know Pitsy, my dealer is pretty good to be fair, they are just a bit difficult to get too, I still refuse to use the $tealer that is 5 mins walk away from my office.  I just make a list up of what I need then go and get everything although the price is adding up!  I keep adding to the list.
