The actuator in my driver's door was on its way out so I picked up a replacement in GSF and started into it last night.

Three hours later, after following these instructions (which were great), I finally got it working again.
Took about 30 mins to get the window switch out (electrical connectors did their best to stop me).

Based on instruction #12, I connected up the reassembled unit to test it before it went back into the car. No life Unhappy
Tried it over and over, including putting the old actuator back in place. Turned out that the window switch needs to be connected for the locking system to work.

Why do BMW make their electrics so bloody awkward? Confused

To prevent a monkey with a hammer and a spanner like you and me from doing diy on their cars.

My dad has just bought himself an F10 as his 'retirement car' and is dead keen to do stuff on it himself but he is dissapointed that there is no Haynes manual for it and again no Bentley manual for it.
Be exclusive and drive a Petrol 5 Series!
