Well, not for me anyway.

I had new disks and pads out on the front of my E39, my mechanic mate suggested ferodo, a good quality kit he thought.

He uses Bromsgrove motor factors, so he ordered and fitted them.

They lasted three days ! High spots and the inside of one was cracked , vibrated like a "git" under braking!!!!

He got back onto BMF pronto, ah they said, we've had a couple of problems with these on BMWs, so they supplied a slightly more expensive Brembo kit, at no extra cost to myself, and they paid for them to be changed, so far, so good.

Just thought I'd share with you.
Best Wishes

Nigel

Yip

If the only braking product that can be bought off the shelf from Halfrauds is Ferodo and at too cheap to believe prices then that is enough for me to give them a wide body swerve.  £25 for brake pads, they've got to be poor quality at that price.  They are just too cheap to be any good.

For brakes always stick with a big name like ATE, Textar, Pagid and Brembo.  I heard a lot of good things about Brembo but couldn't source any discs for my machine.  Brakes and tyres is one area of the car that you want to spend money on to get a good product and not to skimp on.

I've just bought myself genuine BMW front discs for my E60 as all the after market ones were single piece steel discs at 12kg each, genuine BMW ones have an alloy hub rivited to the steel disc and weigh in at a mere 10.5kg each.

I'm a believer in you get what you pay for.
