My alarm has started to go of regularly and is becoming a right pain, especially at night. Any ideas on how I can diagnose the problem?. Its a standard BMW alarm.

I would imagine that it being a BMW alarm it will have to be plugged in by a diagnostics specialist....

Does the alarm include internal ultrasonics? Tried turning that bit off to see if it makes a difference?

Get a diagnostic done. This will show what triggered the alarms otherwise you will spent forever chasing sensors etc.

I bet it's the sensor under the bonnet. Easy and cheap fix from your local dealer

It was the internal ultrasonic sensor but I can lock the car without activitating the internal sensor and set the external sensors by hitting the bmw button twice on the key. Just got a price of €220 for new sensor without fitting. Ouch!!
