Topic: SOLD - Low Mileage E36/5 318ti Compact Posted: 23-July-2009 at 01:25 |
Due to buying another car as our family is growing it's time to let my little car go.... It's a sad time for me as I love my little compact but needs must. Here's a few pics and spec.
Info from VIN.. AL10274 VIN long WBACG62070AL10274 Type code CG62 Type 318TI (EUR) Dev. series E36 (5) Line 3 Body type COMP Steering RL Door count 3 Engine M42 Cubical capacity 1.80 Power 103 Transmision HECK Gearbox AUT Colour BOSTONGRUEN METALLIC (275) Upholstery LEDER M.BEDUIN/BEDUIN HELL (Q1BH) Prod. date 1995-02-06 Order options No. Description 255 SPORTS LEATHER STEERING WHEEL 285 LT/ALY WHEELS BMW STYLING 302 ALARM SYSTEM 315 REAR WINDSCREEN WIPER 354 GREEN STRIPE WINDSCREEN 401 SLIDING/VENT ROOF, ELECTRIC 410 WINDOW LIFTS, ELECTRIC AT FRONT 423 FLOOR MATS, VELOUR 428 WARNING TRIANGLE 441 SMOKERS PACKAGE 498 HEADRESTS IN REAR, MECHANIC. ADJUSTABLE 505 HEADLIGHT WASHER SYSTEM 508 PARK DISTANCE CONTROL (PDC) 520 FOGLIGHTS 529 MICRO FILTER 550 ON-BOARD COMPUTER 687 RADIO PREPARATION 812 ENGLAND VERSION 945 BERUECKS. PREISABHAENGIGKEIT (Thanks to Mallard on the 318ti.org forum for the VIN decoding) It's a 1995 318ti compact in Boston Green metallic with sand grey leather interior. It has split folding rear seats - coupled with the hatchback it has a huge loading area with the seats dropped. The PDC works brilliantly and has decent Goodyear Eagles all round. It has a long MOT but the tax is up at the end of August. I have the original radio cassette which will be included (needs fitting) For a 95' plate car it has low mileage.. 87,686 genuine miles! It also comes with a NI plate (JLZ 9505) as I can't be bothered transferring it to my latest car. It has never had it's original 'M' plate on it as it has always had private numberplates. The ti came from BMW's flagship Holland Park dealership in London and still has the dealers sticker in the rear window. I can't fault this car as it has never let me down except once when I suffered a dead battery. It's taken me all over (as you can see in the pics above) It is also chipped which has flattened out the flat spot you get with auto's (switchable). The extras on the spec list are quite impressive. It has a few problems (as all cars do) The rear box has started blowing a bit, and the passenger electric window switch has broken. The front fog lights aren't working (may just be blown bulbs) and the little bar that holds the drivers door open has broken. All these problems shouldn't take much fixing. I haven't the time nor the money to do this (families aren't cheep, neither is running a Volvo T5). The body work isn't what you would call concours as I reckon it was used as a shopping car so it has trolly dings and marks all over. I haven't seen any rust though. It is also due a service (red light on) I've seen slightly newer (way) higher mileage compacts go for 1600 - cars this age should have easily over 130k on the clock! I would like to be realistic about what it needs doing to it and see it go for around 750.00 as I need the space. Compacts tend to hold their value more than the other body shapes. we allready have a SORN Suzuki Vitara sat on our driveway as well as the Ovlov estate. Insurance is set to be cancelled on the 27th of this month so would like to see it gone by then othewise you will need to get temp ins. if you want a test drive. Please contact me via PM if interested or would like more info. Will be taking more pics shortly.. |

I'm in York
I've decided not to fit the original radio cassette as I seam to recall it was a bit rubbish. So instead I've fitted my old Alpine radio cassette as it had the ISO lead already on the back and just plugged it straight in. It came out of my old E30 320i and sounds pretty good in the compact. Forgot to mention, it has EWS-II remote central locking with alarm/immobiliser. Plus it has a button on the keyfob that switches the interior lights on for a short while - very handy for finding your car in a dark carpark at night. I've recently fitted new rear top shock mounts on both sides and a new spring. Edited by Rhys |

I havent had the time to show the old dear today, however the old fella has said if she doesnt want it he'l have it . I just have to organise a realistic time frame to get up to you and view/collect the car . What with work , kids and the woman its not easy getting the time for a 12 or 13 hour round trip! let alone a time which suits you too . oh the tangled web we weave .
