+1

as I explained before, re-mapping is a dedicated "chip" based on the measurements taken from YOUR car while running on the Dyno.
For 100 I guess he will just overwrite the existing "chip" with an generic "chip" copied from somebody else.

Unless he is a magic mapper and can do a whole re-map in 1 hours Dyno time.

ask him how he "re-maps"....

no need to get upset. If you only post half of the details you don't need to be surprised about the responses.
There are a lot of dodgey "chippers" out there and one can't be careful enough. Keep in mind, you are messing with the most important part of your car, the ECU. things just going a little bit wrong can end up in a costly disaster in a very short period of time.
Been there, done that, got the t-Shirt (and a melted piston)

I've seen a dodgy ones as well, I got my old compact chipped by an old forum member (who shall remain un-named) for not much more that 100 with no ill effects in fact it reduced the flat spot and increased the throttle response so that's a story of a good outcome (in my case). Then again on the Volvo forums I now frequent (bad Nigel, I blame you lol) I've heard of engines going bang with bent rods after dodgy remaps - considering these are on turbo'd lumps the power gains are a bit more significant (225bhp upto 260bhp+ with no engine mods and 300bhp with stage one).

Be interesting to see what the o.p. did in the end..
