yes know what am doing oil and diff change  done just wasnt sure what the little resvoir was next to planium chamber but know what its for now

don't want to sound rude, but are you sure what you are doing? SMG = £££££
You don't want to mess with it if you're not sure what you are doing. An oil change can't be that expensive at an Indipendent.
E61 520d, slow and buzzy but my wallet likes the mpg.....

already had a look opie oils what is the resevoir next to planium chamber for then a thought that was something to do with smg models ma dad has a manual and his doesnt have it a got told that it was the filling point for gear box

BMW LT-2 part# 83 22 0 309 031 for tranmission.

Castrol SAF-XJ for diff plus FM Booster OEM part # 83 22 2 282 583

There is a drain plug on the underside of the gearbox and a fill plug on the side, remove or at least lossen the fill plug before removing the drain plug.

does anyone know which type of gear oil goes in e46 m3 smg 2002 and how you go about doing it ano how to change oil in a normal box but just not sure about this one as it has a filling point at top of engine,also which type of oil goes into diff
