I am trying to get hold of the above part without paying over the odds.

I have tried FabDirect (thanks Kin Mak) and capital in Tullamore are doing a search for me. Does anyone know where I could get this part?
For chassis number EB96282 - part no. 5434 810 6979

PM me please if you have an idea as to where I should look.

Thanks all.

Bourker

Have you tried the dealer?

Probably not as expensive as you may think.

Link to part...
It looks to be such a specific item, that BMW or a breakers will be your only option. I'd bet that GSF & Euro Car Parts won't stock something like that.

Sporty - Capital Cars in Tullamore was until recently a BMW Main Dealer.

Hi Bourker, try a wanted ad on www.e30zone.net. There are plenty of E30 experts over there.

My leccy hood started playing up last year, I was going to the UK last year and was going to fly and rent a car. I found a garage outside Birmingham called the E30 center  and after a phone call to them I decided to take the E30. They took a look at the roof and straightened various rods and changed a casting that had broken in the well where the roof goes when its stowed. The casting that breaks is a common fault on the cabs. The E30 lads in the E30 center fabricate a replacement part and fit it .They serviced the roof and its worked fine since. All in £150. They've never had a failure with the fabricated part.  I was at my wits end last year till I googled the problem and found I wasn't the only one with a dodgy electric roof.

Where are you based?

Regards
Mac
