We will soon be planning the program for next year. If anyone has any ideas or special requirements, just send them to me in an email, and if possible we will set them up.

Hello Howard, I'm Richard Betts, We met at The Ship Inn for Sunday Lunch at the last Washington weekend. I'm sure you'll remember. Just to let you know Howard that I have recently become the North East rep. for the E30 Register section. In reply to your posting of 19th November regarding event programming for next year I would like to try to include an effort to establish a local group in the Tyne / Tees area mainly for E30 owners but as always open to others. I am prepared to get things moving myself but would appreciate some help when necessary. I would like to start by organising a regular Monthly meeting at a central fixed location. The idea is very new and I shall get back to you in due course. If anyone else out there reads this with interest then please don't hesitate to contact me. Best Regards and a Very Merry Christmas Richard Betts

I remember you well Richard - and your car.
By all means have a regular meeting up in the real North East. mainly for E30's perhaps, but I have found that if you invite everyone, then you get a better response. Don't know how many E30 members there are up in the area. Send me details of where you are meeting and at what time and I will post them in the magazine. You can also post them yourself on the club events list. I will send you details of how to do that when you are organised. A few tips 1.never make a definite booking for people if it is going to cost you if they don't turn up. 2. make sure that the pub you use has lots of parking places and inexpensive but good food. 3. Be prepared to be the only one there sometimes. 4. Advertise the meet as often as possible in every way - forum, events list, magazine, other forums. 5.If you have a pub with lots of rooms, make sure that you have a few BMW paper flags in prominent positions in case people don't find you in the pub. Also tell the bar staff. 6. Magazine and newsletter info needs to be sent in at least one month before any event. Deadline is usually around the 22nd of the month prior to publication dates - these are usually in the back page of the mag. Good luck - If you get stuck, give me a ring - my number is in the magazine. |

Richard,
Our annual regional trackday at Croft is usually on the Monday of the Silverstone GP weekend (July 5th next)..We always get a lot of people coming up on the Sunday and staying over and we tend to take over the 'Croft Spa Hotel' which is right on the bridge over the river Tees. It's a good enough place and ther are always lots of E30's there (mainly M3's) If you are up for it, maybe you could organise a meeting around there somewhere and we could get together.. your people could even stay over and come along to the trackday on the Monday. Good Luck, Nick |
