Bought a used Alpine CDA-9887R... .awesome system once the sound is setup properly.
However, each time I turn off the ignition and turn back on it looses all it's settings. I notice two of the wires on the loom have been swapped, could this be causing my problem? Don't want to try and blow the thing up One of the yellow cables connects to a red and the other red one connects to a yellow. I wondering if the previous owner manually switched them over so no power goes to the head unit when the car is turned off. Perhaps to stop the ipod grabbing the car batterys charge if sitting for a long time? I don't like the idea of unplugging the ipod each time, but I also don't like having to setup my stereo each time I get in the car My previous head unit was ok. Any suggestions? Thanks again Graeme Edited by GWatson |

Yeah...the wire (Yellow, IIRC) that should be connected to +12v live direct is connected to the ACC position on the ignition switch...
That wire is the one that is for the memory of the unit...remove the power and it will loose the stored settings... |
