   hi guys
my gearbox is not working properlly. i am unable to change modes, can only use one mode, cant use sport nor E mode. How serious is it? the mechanic said that should not pose a problem, is he right?
car control is a bit weak, what do i need to do to fix it and how much is going to cost me?
i am 'bout to buy castrol edge sport 0w-40, is this the right engine oil.
sorry guys but i am new driver and dont know anything about mechanics.

	Id check the switch first mt 525 sport did exactly the same thing, i stripped the switch and cleaned it with contact cleaner, worked fine after that.
	528 for now

	My switch was broken on the ti when I got it. Think a new one was under �30 from the dealers. Mine went into sports and M but couldn't get it back into E (unless I stopped and turned the engine off to reset it)

	Welcome. What age of 328 is it? As said above it should be easy enough to prise out the switch and take it apart and clean it up with emery paper and WD40. If it isn't the switch then it will be a trip to an automatic transmission specialist for a wee lookie see at what is wrong. Probably worth getting the Autobox serviced while you are at it. A service will cost about �150 inc VAT, fluid and filters. All the best Andrew
