Full BMW History, meticulously kept, full options pack, optional BMW hardtop.

This is a fantastic example of the modern classic M3 Evolution convertible, first registered 26th October 1996.

Pics:

It has an utterly complete full BMW dealer service history, with fully stamped service book, wallet, manuals and a folder containing all receipts. Last service was August this year, so plenty of time before the next one is required and the service lights are still all green.

It has had anything it has ever needed done, with no expense spared, and ONLY BMW doing any work.

Every MOT certificate is present also.

It was originally a BMW demonstration model (and as such has the top specification), and then one meticulous and careful, mature professional owner for the rest of it's life. It has never been thrashed or raced and has always been respected and allowed to warm-up gently from cold. This is VERY important with any car, especially an M3.

It has covered 138,000 miles. Most of which were clocked up travelling up and down the M40 motorway at cruising speed in 6th gear! Therefore the condition of the car is more like a car that has covered about 70,000 miles.

Seriously, if it said 70,000 on the clock, you would not doubt it for one second. I have had many BMW's over the years and mileage is simply not an issue as long as it has been well cared for and properly serviced/maintained. And this is the best BMW I have ever had.

This car has new brakes, new clutch, fresh suspension and a perfect engine and transmission. It is far better than most sub 100,000 mile M3 convertibles. My last E36 M3 had 90,000 miles on the clock and was NOWHERE near as strong, tight, quiet and simply superb as this one.

More details:

Exterior

Very good condition Boston Green metallic bodywork - beautiful pearlescent green paintwork. Looks incredible in the sun and at night time - under street lighting there appears to be a blue/purple tint to the metallic paint… very striking and extremely individual.

I would say the bodywork is an 8 out of 10 overall since there are some light scratches/marks and some very small stone chips to the front - nothing that spoils the overall look of the car though. It is very good, but it is not "showroom" condition since it is not a brand new car.

The car has never had any paintwork and never had any accidents, or even any minor knocks. Everything is totally standard and original including:

- M side skirts
- M front bumper with air dam
- M front lower spoiler
- M rear bumper and diffuser
- Polished M-Forged Double Spoke alloys (INCLUDING a 5th alloy as the spare) with nearly new Dunlop SP Sport tyres all round!
- Genuine BMW hardtop with electrics (interior lights and heated rear screen)

The automatic soft top roof (rare matching green cloth) is in good condition and full working order, with no leaks. It has been adjusted and serviced/lubricated by BMW service on a regular basis (receipts all present) so all is as it should be. The rear window has a couple of very small slits at the fold line (common), but it doesn't leak so I haven't worried. Plus it has the optional hard top for winter anyway if you want.

Suspension & Steering

Again, all totally standard and genuine BMW.

The car drives exceptionally well - pretty much like a new car - or at least like a very good low-mileage example. This is due to any bushes/mounts/joints being renewed by BMW with genuine BMW parts whenever required. There are receipts present for recent bushes, shock absorbers, mountings etc.

Transmission

Smooth and quiet 6-speed manual gearbox (Cruises at 70mph @ 2,500 rpm!)

New clutch from BMW

Clutch fluid flushed and renewed

BMW M LSD (limited slip differential) with regular LSD oil changes at BMW

Engine

Totally standard S50B32 M-Power engine. Why modify perfection? 3.2 litre, 321bhp. Fantastic power and torque in every gear. Does 40mpg on the motorway in 6th gear. It does 70mph at 2,500 rpm which is just about the perfect cruising revs.

Around town I get between 26-29mpg depending on traffic. Overall I get about 31mpg, much more on longer motorway journies (35+ mpg)

Runs lovely, pulls strongly, no hesitation at any revs. Idles perfectly. Starts instantly every time, warm or cold.

No knocks, rattles or any other nasty noises from the engine. The engine pulls fantastically, runs super-smoothly and sounds beautiful.

The engine has had fluids, filters, checks and adjustments carried out religiously at only BMW. Only BMW Castrol oil is used and all is fully documented

The engine has no leaks, it uses no water, and absolutely minimal (if any) oil, though it is always checked weekly.

Always run on 99 RON fuel (Shell V-Power)

New sparkplugs

Valve clearances adjusted by BMW

New coolant

New fuel filter

New accelerator cable (super smooth)

Brakes

Discs and pads have been recently replaced by BMW (M3 Evo floating discs for best performance and no warping!)

Fluid flushed and renewed (DOT 4 synthetic brake fluid)

Interior

Full Modena (yes, like a Ferrari!) leather interior, including door cards insets.

Black leather centre arm rest with no wear (these are usually completely worn out!)

Electric sports seats (a £1,055 + VAT option when new!)

As usual there is some slight wear to the drivers seat (see pictures) - some lines/creases in the leather but no splits or holes.

All trim is in perfect condition. Trim is charcoal black.

Fully polished real burr walnut centre console, ash trays, gear knob and glove box trim (an £800 extra when new)

Digital climate control, fully electronically controlled, with air conditioning and micro filter (a £500 option when new). The air conditioning system has had £600 recently spent on it at BMW, with many parts renewed (new condensor, drier and pipework as well as seals and gas recharge), so it is working as good as new. The climate control unit has also been renewed by BMW.

Professionally installed top-of-the-range Sony stereo with Sony 10 CD-changer in the boot. Stereo has remote control stalk for all functions too! There is a bill of £508 for the sound system/installation.

The original factory-fitted BMW Business RDS Radio/cassette is available if you'd prefer to keep it 100% original.

Professionally installed Nokia hands-free kit (easily removed if not required - no holes have been cut or drilled for the installation)

Original BMW Hi-Fi speaker system. Great sound and a perfect understated factory-fit.

On-board computer displaying various parameters such as outside temperature, fuel range, mpg, time, date, timer, trip computer etc etc.

Check Control warning computer warns of any malfunctions immediately on the screen.

Original BMW M3 Evo SRS Airbag leather steering wheel with no wear to speak of

Original BMW fitted floor mats

Original BMW Security remote full-closure alarm/immobiliser and central locking, with spare key fob. And of course the BMW Security certificate is present to show your insurer for a reduction in your premium.

A Tracker is installed and all paperwork is present

Full and complete BMW toolkit in the boot, with jack, wheel brace, warning triangle and BMW spare bulb kit too! The spare is a 5th polished alloy. Nothing is missing from this car, it is meticulously complete.

If the mileage was lower, this car would be £8495. Quite a saving for just a few digits on the odometer…

MOT until 17th March 2008

Tax until March 2008

Price is £6595 without the hardtop (£7095 with the hardtop) and I welcome a quick sale as I need the cash for a property purchase.

I can be contacted via PM.

This really is a bargain for an M3 Evolution Convertible in such rare meticulous and complete condition.

Delivery possible anywhere in the UK at cost (fuel and train fare home). Payment must be received in full before delivery. Cash on collection welcome of course (based in Sussex).

Sorry for the long-winded description, but I could talk about this car all night! Whoever becomes the lucky new owner will be delighted with this car, it really is fantastic.
