Novice,
Iv'e had it just over 6 months.Had a J reg E30 320ise before that.
The 328i is a great car and I'm chuffed to bits with it I normally get high 20's early 30's out of it, and thats with quite a lot of 'enthusiastic' driving (the novelty STILL hasn't worn off!!!)

What do you mean by not too bad low 20s or maybe 30ish????

How long you been running your 328i for? I guess they're pretty bomb proof if you look after em!

Go for the 2.8 It's not too bad on juice in mine,so it'll be better in a lighter car.Pretty quick too!

Just bought a 1.9 auto for the wife and it seems a nice enough car.

Bit short of power but just what she wants

Hi folks, I'm new to this forum so hope I posted this in the right place.

I'm thinking of buying a used Z3 my budget puts me in the range 13-14K so I guess I'm looking at a 98-99 vehicle. My questions are:-

1.  basically what is the best model to go for. performance vs running cost. 1.9? 2.8?

2. whats good & bad, are there any potential pitfalls, or faults that I should look for. (I assume service history is a must?)

3. Anything to avoid at all cost?

4. As it's to be my daily transport are they 100% against rain wind snow etc. Just thought I'd ask
