I need a decent paint shop.

I have some scratches and stonechips that need attending to, anyone know of a good paint shop?  Or has anyone used a mobile chips away type service they can recommend.

I also have a lot of swirl marks in the paintwork.... would this be best cured with a decent machine polish/clay etc?  Again, any recommmendations?

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Ferris pass-out at 31 Flavours last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Don't use Chips-Away - by all accounts you'd be better off doing it yourself.

I used Seymour Coachworks in New Hartley which may be a bit far for you. Jamie was talking at the Wed meeting about a new bodyshop he knows. I believe Mick has all the details. Think it's a bit closer to you.

Have had this detailer recommended to me.  Have not used him myself, will do in the near future though.  But he has come recommended.

Tim, this is all I've got about the new place:-

J & S Autos (Units 3 & 4, Eddison Road, Swan Industrial Estate, Washington, Tyne & Wear NE38 8JH. Tel 0191 4192176 or 0191 4175222 www.jsautos.co.uk). They do paint and body styling (both classic and modded - see their website for examples of their work), servicing, welding, MOT preparation, 24 hour recovery.  As part of the Top Gear franchise, they supply wheels, tyres, stainless steel exhausts, catalytic converters and suspension kits. Discounts variable.

I'm going to get them to colour code new back bumper for the Baur and also look at the NSF wing (don't ask, it wasn't me).

Cheers,

Mick

I would have agreed with that until last week.

A friend of mine has just had a repair done to a very new car and frankly the job the guy did was nothing short of astonishing.  He was very professional, friendly and very reasonably priced too apparently.

The person who this car belongs to is notoriously picky about their cars and rejected an Audi repair job 8 times, as well as turned away 2 brand new cars on the grounds they weren't what he expected.  So I know for him to recommend this guy is a credit to his work.
