If any of you fancy a pop at these let me know and I`ll back off. No point bidding against each other. As you say, no bids yet and I don`t think he`ll get any. If I ask him for a Buy it Now he`ll want to wait until the end of the sale. Thought I`d let them go unsold then offer him 500. I reckon 75 a tyre and 50 a wheel.

Any of you guys live in Brentwood and fancy doing me a massive favour in exchange for a pint at Christmas?

I need somebody to have a good look at them.

Standard rims are 7.5Jx16 ET27

If you go to 8Jx16 you will need ET20 (ET22 should fit but they would be very close to the strut).

If you end up getting E36 rims which, are normally ET35, I have a pair of 15mm spacers and long bolts available for sale.

Oh, I thought you might pay!

I was doing a little late night testing up a mountain road at speeds slightly in excess of ludicrous (it`s OK, everybody drives like that here!) and somebody had unexpectedly dug a sort of trench across the road. I calculate it must have been about 17" wide. My front wheels ended up triangular. Rears undamaged as I believe they were airborne as they passed said obstruction.

The front wheels have been straightened, but we have put them on the balancer and they have a definite "canter" and I have a slight wobble on the steering.

Pity, nice set of Cecotto rims that have already survived a drowning. (another story, which you know.)

Gavin,

Pray please tell more about the "interesting adventure"

I would be ok to meet you at the NS with any wheels you might wish to purchase. I am also close to Bracknell Tyres so could get R888's fitted for you (you pay of course)

You will love the 888's they are good in the wet as well.

Cheers
Kevin

....but you need small brakes to fit under 15" rims. Black circles now have 888`s at 125 to take away. (225/45/16) Camskill have them on offer in 205/55/15 which is food for thought at about 70 quid each.

As I a/ Want a set of 888s

b/ Know that 2 of my current 16" rims are slightly square after an "interesting adventure"

I am inclined to think this lot may have my name on it.

Anybody fancy a driving holiday to Mallorca with lots of wheels in the back?

err re R888s

Bracknell tyre & Battery quote £135 per tyre (fitted) for 225/45/16 R888s

a said "around" not exactly...

I agree on the trackday rims, though...I decided to use 15" in the end (tyres were a bit cheaper, too) to keep the unsprung weight as low as possible and also meant I could get a set of 4 rims for <£120 Original BBS in fair condition, too!

£100 each for Toyo R888? Which lorry do they fall off?

They are £185 LIST price and Camskill is selling them for £169

£700 is not toooo much but for track day rims you can use some cheaper rims with a few scuffs as long as they are ROUND
For that sort of money I would like to see the wheels and make sure they are really as good as described.

Hoover

I'm SURE you'll get some OE 16s from somebody on here for a damn site less than that.

I won't say how much but Lyndon sold an immaculate set of Style 5s for less than that and they had £160 worth of new bolts in them...

Also when I sold my Style 5sm, a chap on here had two sets of OE 16s to px with me, and didn't want ANYTHING LIKE THAT for them. I'd have had a set if I didn't already have three sets of M3 wheels

Agree with Lancastrian - If they make £700 I'll be astonished but what do we know!!!

In my opinion not a bargain but not too far out of the way (so long as they are as described).

£500 for a set of four 16" rims in good nick and £50 a tyre??

I doubt it will go an awful lot higher (but what do I know?  )
