And watch the leather(cloth) trim on the rear side panels when you pull the bottom of the back-rest forwards. The two metal straps that the bolts go through can easily tear it.

Yeah, the bottom bit just pulls up at the front edge, and comes out fowardly.

The rear section is held in with 1 x 10mm nut head self tapping bolt in each side, and is hooked in at the top so it pulls upward and once clear it comes out forwards again.

expect it will be the same as an ordinary E30?
remove bottom part of seat (bit you sit on) and in the bottom corners should be some bolts - undo these and lift/release the back part.

anyone tell me how its held in, i need to pull the backrest away to get some new speaker wires through.
