so does the car have the black grilles then as it has a late front end?

what about the middle grill

it could be either on a '73.

The easiest way is to look at the rear lights..
if they are the more modern square ones, you need the wider black plastic grille.
If it has the round rear lights, you need the earlier chrome grille.

Unless.. it is an early car that has has a new front panel fitted.. older front panels are now NLA and there are a few cars that have been repaired with a later front end.

how come there is two grille types and how can you tell which one goes on what model

i have a 73 2002 do i have the chrome grills and the wider middle grille or the thinner one
