Hi all

New to bmw,been lurking on the forum for a while.

got a 318ise 1999,really loving it,

think i've got a few probs engine wise,need to get it checked out.

does anyone know of a reliable indie in nottingham area i could use

Probably because someone from the North East wouldn't know of an indie down in Nottingham. Blame the BMWCCGB for the "North East" tag which stretches down to the South East & across to the Midlands!

Still, what problems are you having? Don't be shy, somebody somewhere will have had them too. We may be able to point you in the right direction.

sorry if i seemed a bit tetchy,i posted the same post on the "other forum"and got diddley squit,got a bit paranoid

the cars great apart from when hot she hunts up & down for revs

i've done a search on here and found it could be a number of causes,

thats why i was looking for a reliable/local indie to run a diag

sorry if i posted in the wrong section but this is the one the BMWCCGB told me i was in when i joined

I'd have a look at your cold start valve/idle control valve. You can clean them out with white spirit or carb cleaner. There's a How-To guide on the Tech section of the E36Coupe.com site.

Do a search on this site for more info.

You could also ask our tame expert, Jon Morgan of Prestige German Cars using the Tech Help link on our website, www.BMWClubNE.co.uk

If that doesn't fix it then you'll need a diagnostic check to help track it down.
