Also try and get the complete V5 form with the car, as the VRT boys/girls need paperwork that support the Vin/chassis no of the car. If you only get the V5(d) part you will end up having to get onto Swansea to post you over a new form which can delay the transfer onto irish plates....

I've used the VRT office in Naas and find the girls sound and considering the minium to pay now is 315 on any auld bucket ( 340 on a '90 E30 318 lux last year) I don't think you've too much to worry about.. Good luck..

The VRT for an E30 31is is around 340 euro, better to just bring in the printout of estimate from the Revenue website, fill in the forms and give them what they ask for, and get your registration forms. Start arguing over a few euro and they might decide to get shirty and charge you more!

I brought in an E30 318is last year and they didn't even look at it. The 'lady' behind the counter asked me if I had an estimate from the revenue website, which I did, and this seemed to please her, so didn't get any hassle.

Remember to get the full registration form from the current owner in the UK as you will need to bring the full form with you to the revenue office here. There is a specific section to be filled when the car if being exported from the UK, so read the form carefully.

Many cars are not on the website - it means that the VRO will not offer you a guide price until you call them. Same with the E30 325is
