My mate has just bout an E36 M3 Evo cabriolet. He noticed in the fuse box that a white relay had been pulled out and was just lying in the space it plugs into.

Everything still works even with it disconnected. Anyone know what it does and what its for?

Ok, pic isn't showing, it does untill I post it. But its in the engine bay fuse box. Its the middle relay in the right hand row of relays. next to the large black relay, below the small yellow relay and above the small green relay.

Hope someone can shed some light on it?

Paul, really could be doing with a pic of the relays but it could be either:

A. ABS overvoltage protection relay

B. Air con compressor relay.

Once you get the pic up i'll let you know exactly what it should be.

Alan.

Alan, I have sent you an email with the picture. I hope you will get it.

Cheers,

Paul, had a look this morning at my manual and I believe this is the air con compressor relay.

Pulled it out and air con stopped getting cooler so this is it. Mine is yellow like the one above it, don't know if there is a difference with the white one or not. Hope this helps.

Alan.
