New 8 Series member says "Hello"

I now joined my first two car clubs in as many months.

I know my car probably won't be worth anything like the total of �11000 it cost me to buy and improve, but in terms of what I've got for the money I still grin whenever I drive it.

I too have always had a soft spot for the 8-series but like most I'm too scared of the complexity! That's why they're "cheap".

Think I prefer the original Style 5's by a whisker but given what sods cross spokes are to clean you've probably made the right choice. At least you can sell the old wheels to some salivating 6-series owner keen to ditch the TRX's!

That's my old car!(P840DOP) That article was done
about a year after I sold it.
As for downloading pics here - I didn't bother with
Image Shack in the end - I just downloaded the
'squealing E30' pic straight up from the computer.
Both are jpeg so there shouldn't be a prob. Oh well!

P840 was an unusual spec car because although
debadged, it had an 840 number plate which sort of
gave the game away. When new it had BBS split
rims and was optioned up with the sports seats
(heated), electric rear blind, cruise control (an
option!), electric steering column and a 6 CD
changer. I was the second owner and bought it from
Godfrey Hall BMW in Coventry in around 2002. By the
time I bought it the corroded splits had been
changed for the CSi 'throwing stars' which were mint
but showing signs of corrosion in the bolt on centre
caps. �270 later..............

It had sports suspension but I added Schnitzer
springs and new sport shocks under warranty when
it had one broken rear coil and one weeping front
damper. Overall it was a nice car but I'm glad I had
the BMW warranty - �2500 worth in the first 3
months............
